welfare for RX software makes

Before COVID-19, Nebraska state legislators had completed a unanimous first pass vote on a bill that would require all pharmacies with a Nebraska pharmacy license to submit the date sold for every prescription dispensed. We at NEHII are optimistic the bill will make the final pass by the end of this year, therefore, we are being proactive in preparing for this legislation change.
Date sold can be gathered by two methods, either by having pharmacy staff manually entering the date sold into the Rx information or with a Point-of-Sale system (POS), the latter option being less tedious for pharmacy staff. Therefore, we are encouraging all pharmacies to investigate the purchasing and implementation of a POS system. Because the Nebraska PDMP was selected by the Federal Government to receive Support Act funds, we may be able to aid in funding for such a change, however, in order to do so we would need to receive your quote and perceived interest by June 2020. If you decide not to accept our aid, upon the perceived legislation change, we will be unable to lend any funding support at that latter time.
sigh....

Lucky you... not.

Oh yeah - we took the money and installed a POS system to fill this requirement. Frankly, it adds a ton of work compared to simply keeping a log, then having someone the following day update the RX system with date sold info.
I mean in a year I suppose we could be doing so many RXs that it makes sense to have the automated portion, but for now - we have yet another computer to manage, and training everyone how to use this new system (and they still have to know how to use the old one) and it puts more clutter into an already crowded workspace.
For their sake, I hope RXs skyrocket to make this effort worthwhile.

@Dashrender man it sure does sound like you enjoy complaining about being busy.

Has anyone tried to see if they can get help on this matter with government entity. For example agencies like CMS,FDA, and other state offices.

I'm complaining about wasting tax payer money in this thread.
The followup was a complaint about wasting resources in our office all in the believe that things would be better, when all we've really done is make them that much more complex with nearly if any actual value - while at the same time putting the company at more risk. -
