That's right. This woman died in her garage and no one found her for six years because all of her bills were paid automatically.

That is a commentary on the sad state of self absorption these days.

Or on reclusiveness. That no job or anything expected her is bizarre. She must have really work to cut herself off from everyone.

What blows my mind is that she had so much of her life automated. So much money set aside for payment automation. Very strange.

Agreed the amount of money needed for payment automation would have been huge by most people's standards. Wow

Yeah, she had to REALLY plan for this in a weird way.

@scottalanmiller This is sad that you could be dead and no one would know or even care into your money runs out.

Wow that is a bizarre story. I wonder why the neighbor doing the lawn never smelled anything.

She mummified. So whatever caused that might have kept the smell pretty low. You often don't smell things outside in fresh air that are just in the garage.

I've been hesitant to do automatic bill pay for some time now, but when I saw this article a few weeks ago, decided that my original stance was correct. Six years is a long time for noone to realize that she was gone. How did noone smell her body?

In her car in her garage. If people only got close to the house when mowing the grass smell could easily cover that up. Since she mummified she might not have smelled that bad most of the time.
