I just had the chance for a clean install of Fedora 30 Workstation on a laptop with a 250GB SSD.
It wants to auto create a 70GB
/
partition. WTF.....Giving the rest to
/home
On Workstation?

/me looks at the title
@Obsolesce yes.
-
That's nice, Debian based ones do that too but way before this.

I disagree. It is a waste. This is a Workstation. There should not be 70GB of shit outside of the
/home
directory.Honestly, for a Workstation, I simply remove the separate
/home
partition and expand/
. But for those that want it separate, that is fine. But 70GB? Just WTF. -

I have a sample size of 1. No idea.

@JaredBusch wow official docs say that 20gb would be more than enough
https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fedora/f30/install-guide/install/Installing_Using_Anaconda/ -
@matteo-nunziati that makes it even more interesting that it defaults so large.

https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fedora/f30/install-guide/install/Installing_Using_Anaconda/I wouldn't rely too much on that documentation since its reusing the same documentation from previous releases and those screenshots are showing Fedora Server 21.

@black3dynamite cool... If not official docs what else? Strange...

It is the official docs. I'm just being stubborn about some screenshots that doesn't go with the current release.
