Solved Fedora 29 Cinnamon booting slow
-
My desktop boots slower than dirt. The boot drive is a 256GB NVMe.
My home folder is mounted on a 215GB ext4 partition
I have a 4TB SATA spinner monuted to /home/jbusch/hdd where my Docs, Downloads, Desktop, Music, and Pictures are linked to.
The Fedroa logo comes on screen, fills from bottom to top fairly quick, but then the system just sits there at that screen.
I cannot open an alternate console, likely because my USB wireless keyboard is not loaded yet.
So, what can I look for?

Wired (super dusty) keyboard plugged in and boom, there we go.
One and a half minute delay trying to mount some drives that no longer exist.
-
Press the Esc key to see a full text of the boot process instead of the fedora logo boot screen.

Doesn't do anything. I will break out a wired keyboard tomorrow.

My up to date Fedora 29 machines, one of which is a very similar disk setup, definitely still boots pretty quickly (faster than Windows.)

That leaves a lot of leeway, lol.
