Most recruiters sending me things don't even state where the job is. It's a weird thing I've found, like they think that there is only one market in the whole world and that I'll just know where they must mean.
My first question is always "what country is this for"?
Strange, I typically see them specifying the city or whether or not the job is remote from the very start. There was a bit of initial confusion when I moved countries several times, but it straightens out quite quickly

Definitely many do specify, but an absurd number do not.

Let it be known that I may be the first account manager/recruiter to get on this forum along side Landry Morren. lol Thank you Paul and Landry for introducing me to this site. My name is Weston Walker and I'm an account manager for Diversant here in Irving. If anyone is a hiring manager and looking for IT candidates (Contract, Contract to perm. or perm.) for an upcoming project or just in general, please feel free to reach out to me. If you are looking to make a change in your career, I can connect you with one of our in-house recruiters and assist as well. I'm really looking forward to networking on here and please feel free to reach out anytime.

I just heard about this page yesterday. I work as an Account Manager at Diversant; I work with Weston, who commented above.
Although I am not a recruiter, I would be more than happy to sit down with anyone over lunch, coffee, a happy hour, etc. who would be willing to help me improve my knowledge of current technologies. That way I can also arm my recruiters with better information for their search. Just putting people in chairs, or throwing tons of candidates at managers just hoping one will stick, is not how I like to do business. I want to make sure that there is a good fit for both my clients as well as the candidates I submit. I get that many recruiters/staffing companies have a bad rap, but I try my best to differentiate myself by getting involved in communities like this. If anyone would be interested please feel free to send me a chat on this site, and I'd be happy to pass my contact info along and get something set up!

Us too. Always looking for fresh insights and perspectives.

@lmorren1148 welcome, great to see you guys joining us.

@scottalanmiller Same for us. I think there is plenty of value in the information to be shared on both sides. We get an opportunity to learn about tech from the people with boots on the ground, and we can share a perspective from the client side on interview process, best practices, hot projects, etc.

@StrongBad thank you, great to be here. Hopefully this proves to be fruitful for all parties.

And a chance to learn about who is available, get the word out more about opportunities, etc.!

Exactly, I don't know why I hadn't really thought about posting info on the open jobs we had either. I'm sure there are plenty of highly-qualified IT pros on here that our recruiters don't have in their database. I might see what our team needs some help on a try a trial run in the next day or two.

Exactly. It seems like a natural match making system. Both sides benefit from the interaction.
