I know let's start out with an unlikely hero on a sand planet, and then have that hero be involved with the most impossible task of destroying a death star or something like it.
Right, its the same plot over and over, the entire plot of every story is the same thing over and over.
Gotta blow up the big guys ship.
Yes, I have to say, other than Rogue One, SW has become BORING. It's just a bad reboot without officially rebooting. The stories are LAME, the characters are one dimensional. There is enough action and music and effects that sitting through it is fine. But it's just a dumping ground for "learning how to write a movie" and clear that Disney doesn't take it (or the fans) seriously.
I felt that way about Ironman II and III. It was more like Ironman was a fluke.
Today, Disney only seems to care about making money - Granted - I completely admit that I could not make a better story than they did - but I ask - why not just make the books? People loved them!
People line up to see movies based on books today, why toss that out the window?

That's who the new movies are for, not for people who like the SW universe, or liked the old movies, or the people who liked the books, or people who thought Carrie Fisher was hot... but are for girls who want to dress up at conventions in outfits and that's it. That's the new pop culture sci fi "fanbase". They aren't fans "of" the film, they are fans "for attention."

100% agree. Ironman was decent, but that made it not fit with the rest of the universe.

As i said - a complete rehash of EP IV... /sigh WTF was Disney/LFL thinking?? Why couldn't it be new?

They probably thought it was safer to slowly introduce them and kill off the main characters
Why would they think that? They have the cartoons - granted non of the OT characters save Obi Wan/Vader are in the cartoons (oh and Yoda).

No he's right, there's a lot of kids (edit Guys) my age ( 21 ~) that havent seen SW nor want to see it!
A lot of the kids my age would rather watch the new ones "because better graphics" , I no longer talk to these people.. I dont need that negativity in my life. -

When I was a kid, 50 year old movies were normal to watch. I grew up with movies made in the 30s and 40s and never thought of them as "bad".
Most 20 somethings I talk to today refuse to "watch anything made before I was born", because they have no interest in "old stuff."
