Get rid of the DD-WRT router and get an ER-L.

Yeah, that toy device isn't doing you any favoures. Plus it doesn't fit into your singular Unifi management system.

Does UNMS manage Unifi APs yet? I thought it was on the feature request list.

Is there any issue with user density on the UBNT APs?

Depending on the Netgear router, DD-WRT does have some protections where the DHCP server will not to exceed available virtual memory... So my guess he's just hitting a virtual memory cap on that consumer router.

It never will. It will eventually be able to see them and you can click out to the unifi controller

Do not buy an ERL. Buy the ER 4

Ok I will advise them to get an er-4 .. or should I get the USG since they already have AP

The USG is just an ERL with UniFi firmware.

Also it sucks. It takes a solid router and gimps it.

But that is my opinion. Apparently a lot of “people” like it.

For this environment does the "gimp"-ing matter in the long run? It's still on top of enterprise hardware and add the manageability from the Unifi Controller that they may want.

Just thinking do they need the features/performance of the ER-4 when a USG will be "easier" for them to manage?

I would posit that the USG is not easier to manage

Unifi does that, UNMS is for the non-Unifi stuff.

I've had to work with it and agree, more work to manage, not less.

                                    Specifically, not IT professionals.

I have one in the field. I will never, ever, buy another one.
