Several killed in mass shooting in Jacksonville, Florida - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-45315970
Playing Madden Footbal? WTF.
Apparently one of the players lost and started shooting. It's pretty brutal.
It's not even a good game!
Yeah, it's popular though. League of Legends is also a bad game and so is Fortnite.
I know OF those two, but don't know them. Madden I know from decades ago, but haven't heard of anyone playing it in forever. Had no idea it had any kind of following.

@scottalanmiller It is the most popular sports game of all time. Yearly releases for 25 years.

Most popular and "still has a following" don't necessarily line up. I knew it was big for a long time. But haven't heard about it in years now. Not that I can remember. I don't know anything about, say, Fortnight, but I hear it mentioned places non-stop. I figured if I said "Madden Football" to someone under 25 today, they'd look blankly at me and when I explained what it was they'd tell me it died out before they started gaming. Amazing that it's still popular.
-
Not that I know OTHER football games that would be better, just amazing that that one has held on so long.
-
Popular != good
It only has new releases to generate income for EA
Aside from cosmetics, the game has not changed since this was released.

LoL is not my style, but certainly was not a bad game.
Fortnite is also not my style, but is not a bad game either.

MOBA's aren't bad but LoL is a bad MOBA. It lacks a lot of the mechanics/depth that good MOBA's have and add's nothing to replace them.

Clear Beer? Clear Coffee?

Okay, maybe it is just me but does anyone really want the beer taste without the alcohol? I am a coffee drinker and I don't want coffee without the caffeine. Now if it could just be coffee that is clear, I am all for that, no coffee teeth stain. But, water that is just coffee flavored......I will pass.

WTF is "have having water"???
They are about to have way too much water. And it won't be the drinking kind.

This is why I always complain about @scottalanmiller restating headlines for his own benefit.
From the article, the headline is actually:Miami Will Be Underwater Soon. Its Drinking Water Could Go First

I saw that, I was just pointing out the oddball autocorrect language.

Yup, I'm a huge believer in universal basic income. I love the idea from Scott Adam's talking about it in the early 1990s.

When I worked as a Burger King manager, I was able to show that a crew of three (plus the manager) was able to run the store, full time, better than any larger number. We made maximum profits, and performed at peak, at that crew size. The crew of 20+ that they maintained was all for show, all because some rulebook said to have lots of people. 17+ of those people only served to drive away the good workers, destroy profits, get in the way and make food take longer and be of lower quality. The financial damage that 17 people did was incredible, the company could still profit, but a fraction of what it should have as it lost customers, lost money in food waste, and paid wages at least quadruple what they should have been.

Yea i dont disagree, and think it is going to happen sooner than what others think, except in US which will likely be the last country on earth to do UBI.
How many of you work in a place where there are 'useless jobs' being done that could either be easily automated, or employees that have 'too much time'?
