DellAssistant: Critical Seagate Update
-
I was about to post this last week,.. but didn't get to, and was able to 'solve' it then. But now - here we are again.
- Dell Inspiron 13, 5000 series 2 in 1.
- Windows 10 Pro (currently)
Having downloaded the update / installer, I now have a screen up that has:
Core is distributed with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY www.tinycorelinux.net tc@box:~$
Rebooting gives few options - which took me a few to get so I could read
rEFInd - Main Menu * Boot Microsoft EFI Boot from EFI System Partition * Boot EFI\__Boot\bootx64.eft from EFI System Partition * Boot EFI\BOOT\refind_x64_signed.efi from EFI System Partition * Boot WindowsBootMgr from EFI System Partition * Boot SeagateLinux from EFI System Partition * about rEFInd * Shutdown Computer * Reboot Computer * Reboot to Computer Setup Utility
I did just locate a BIOS setting that was enabled to boot to this. Unchecked it and restarted it. It's now running the Support Assistant tool.
Guess we will see what happens.

No bootable device found.. time to reverse that change and try something different.
-
Systematically went through the options, and now the system boots normally.. but odd that this happened.
