Linux for Web/Video

Hi folks,
I'm setting up a screen to just play video such as YouTube, BBC iPlayer, Netflix so on so forth. I have initially tried Ubuntu but get issues win Firefox with Flash, HTML5 video.
Any specific flavour that would make a great workstation for browsing and streaming different types of video online?

With any of them, typically you want to install Chrome and watch the videos.

You may want to check out Kodi.
You can install it on nearly everything.

Kodi is good because it is meant to be an AV system used via a remote.

We will generally just be using iPlayer. I'll try Chrome on the machine tomorrow.

BBC iPlayer specifically won't release on Linux. BBC are kinda asshats about that.

The way I use Chrome lately, I have a laptop connected to my TV. Google Chrome is in full-screen mode. I always have three tabs opened: Netflix, Amazon Videos, and YouTube TV. I navigate between tabs using Ctrl+1, 2, or 3 using my Logitech Wireless Touch Keyboard K400 Plus.

The issue isn't with Firefox, you simply have the functionality turned off, which is by default.
Chrome or chromium generally work without the need for any tinkering. While with Firefox you simply have to enable the settings.

With Firefox you have enabled Digital Rights Management (DRM) in settings.
