Does anyone who hosts Freepbx on Vultr run into an issue where your trunk randomly disconnects but then never reconnects and goes to the status of "Rejected"? I have 3 separate systems and they all randomly do this on occasion. My theory is that it may be happening during the Vultr backup at night but I am not sure how I can prove this to be true.

I found this post that describes the same issue and may consider applying this script but thought that the Trunk settings would account for this and auto reconnect.

This only happens to me with PJSIP trunks. It is always random. Some sites never have a problem.

You may want to recreate the trunk as a SIP trunk.

@jaredbusch - I have only used Voip.ms for all my trunks. Do you think this is a Freepbx issue or a Voip.ms issue? In theory, shouldn't the retry settings reconnect or do you think it is just timing out eventually because of a bug?

I appreciate all your feedback. Thanks!

I have not had time to drop a wireshark on this to figure that out.

It is simple enough to make a SIP trunk. /me gets off his ass to go make a post about it.

@syko24 Here are the instructions for making a CHAN_SIP trunk.

Thanks again! So I assume you are using pjsip from phones to pbx and chan_sip on your trunks? Or have you completely switched everything to chan_sip at this point?

PJSIP on phones to PBX. Always.

The key differences in PJSIP are server side enhancements. Nothing removed a SIP communication bit.

I use both SIP and PJSIP for trunks. I always try PJSIP first. If I have issues with a provider, I will switch it to SIP.
