Windows laptops stuck at 1709.192 update.
-
Checking a bunch of my laptops I have found that they are all sitting at the .192 update when I check winver. If I tell them to check for updates they all have come back and said no updates are available. However, when I look at Microsoft's website I see that 1709.214 is available.
Thoughts or a general kick in the right direction?

A number of the 15 updates from January this year needed to be manually installed. You may just be looking at one of them.
Also, yes, really, 15 different updates, some to remove previous updates.

Great! BTW, I read a while ago that WSUS was going away? Yet today in my searches for this issue I see that it is indeed still alive and well on 2012 servers? Did I dream that WSUS was going away?

I think we all wish WSUS would go away for a better tool to manage updates, but I don't think that'll be happening for quite a while.

You can Windows Update as a Service but that is different, WSUS hasn't gone away yet.

You need to add the following registry key:
Key="HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"Subkey="SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\QualityCompat" Value Name="cadca5fe-87d3-4b96-b7fb-a231484277cc" Type="REG_DWORD” Data="0x00000000”

It often should go away, but I don't know that MS is taking it away.
