I used to watch it with my mom when I was a kid. It was our special show to watch because it was 11PM on PBS on Saturday night. My mom and I were night owls, my dad always went to bed early. So on the weekends, my mom and I would stay up together and watch it. Once I got married, I introduced my wife to it and about every two to three years, we binge the whole thing, including Grace and Favour, again.

Yes. It was an HBO show. And you've likely seen many of the actors in other shows or movies, the whole cast was excellent.
