It's just the shifting of the balance of power on the world stage that is scary. Let alone the fact that the average person can't be trusted with that kind of a power source.
They can't be trusted with a fireplace, but we let them have those.

@scottalanmiller Same I was like, Adobe still makes that...
Adobe made Flash I had no idea that they were making CF too. How did I miss that?
It came about when they bought Macromedia. Along with Dreamweaver and Flash.

And then adobe took them and made them slow and bloated. At least they aren't near as bad as they were a few years ago.

Oh wow, I had completely forgotten about Macromedia! How could I have forgotten them?

Talk about hijacking a post. I find it interesting that nobody wants to be too quick to call it "cold fusion". Still, the mere (substantiated?) thought that this thingy can crank out that kind of energy... that's pretty impressive, and scary. It's about one step shy of having a time machine or teleportation device. Think of the implications and geopolitical tensions that could cause. Just how radically would it change our world, and in what ways that we aren't even thinking of?
There was no talk that I have seen on production level costs yet though.

Makes me think of the movie Chain Reaction.

@JaredBusch it will be interesting to get a price on that.

Not cold fusion, but Lockheed Martin has announced they plan to build a truck sized fusion generator within a year and production ready systems in 10.

That's very true. I forgot you had one of those.
