Password Managers

Well, maybe my import from DL was pointless... It doesnt seem to recognize anything automatically that I imported from DL.
Everything imported into the vault, but it isn't making the correlation of URLs for imported entries.

I should mention that I imported my usernames & passwords from a KeePass 2 file. I didn't have the URL right in most of my sites, so when I copy/pasted the info into the login box, Bitwarden has saved the password and URL every time for me.
The exception, I've noticed is sites that have 2-step login (ie: username on one page, password on the next).

Well that is a pain in the ass.. It stuck all my usernames and passwords into notes and made the URL the username...

Oof that sucks. It imported perfectly from LastPass.

Feels more polished and smooth. Been out several years so that may be reason. Autofills anything I want, like the ui for desktop and mobile, and like how easy it is to have it create strong passwords for everything.

I fixed the issues I was having with Bitwarden. I used it over the weekend. It's ok, but I do miss the one click autofill feature of dashlane.
However, I think other than that Bitwarden might meet my needs for FREE!

One click autofill? For passwords? Bitwarden has a similar feature but it does require you to click on the extension and click on the link. Two clicks.

I also enjoy having my info sync'd on multiple devices. I have never seen an overlap. Dashlane has been good enough that I have never gone out looking for something else because it felt inadequate either. I havent used a few of the others you all are talking about though. Do they have something different than Dashlane I should be looking at?

Aside from the price? Not really they are all basically the same. BitWarden has a mobile app that will autofill passwords in apps and browsers which is very nice... all for free. It's also open source which is an added benefit.

Or right click in the username/password field, highlight Bitwarden, click desired user/pass option.

Dashlane is pretty good about this, but I have had to manually sync if I want to access a new password on a mobile device or desktop device instantly. They must auto sync every 5 mins or so, which is fast enough 95% of the time.

I just use the password manager in Chromium. That syncs across all my devices running Chromium.
So simple.

What are you guys using for the auto lockout settings? On PC, I am locking on lock. On mobile I have 5 mins set. The only problem with 5 mins is that it seems to disable the autofill after lockout?

I'm considering the same approach for my parents. They're in the Apple ecosystem, so I might as well just use Apple's password management stuff.

Dashlane is no longer insanely more expensive than LastPass, but I will simply never use them after the shitty annoying sales tactics. At least until they are a significantly better and cheaper option. Which at this point they are not.
Dashlane: $0 / $3.33 / $4 (Business)
LastPass: $0 / $2 / $4 (Family)
LastPass has something they call "Teams" that would cost me $2.42 per user per month with 6 users.
