That is to record to the USB jack on the back of the phone if you put a USB drive in it.

That is to record to the USB jack on the back of the phone if you put a USB drive in it.
I wondered that. What I read about USB recording was that if the phone sensed a USB drive was present, a more button would appear in the softkey row, which would then reveal a record button. But it makes sense that type record wouldn't do the function I'm wanting, for how would the Yealink phone know what to send to PBX to initiate recording, since I could easily configure something other than *1 for on-demand recording? The answer of course it "it wouldn't."

Yealink specifically has a spot, in the GUI even!!, to tell it to send the appropriate code to the PBX when the DND button is pressed.

Sure, for the second option I mentioned, but in the case of my phone having a contact list, that had nothing to do with the CO or a PBX, it was all inside my phone at home. Oh, yeah, I said all of this already.

The PBX for your phone at home is the CO. This is not a hard concept. The CO has all these features too.
