What error should you see if you're attempting to connect to a Hyper-V Server 2016 server from a Windows 7 PC. I have been told you can't do this, but I'm wondering if it tells you that or if it just gives you a generic error.
Don't know, it lacks the communications protocol so none of us try it as it can't work. Why do you care? You know it won't work, so whatever error you see, that's the one.
Because I'm getting an error related to the RPC service of the server, but that service is running. Tempted to install Hyper-V Server 2012 just to see. Seems way to specific to be an incompatibility issue.
But WHY? What's your goal here? Why are you trying to do this, it makes no sense.
The closest I can tell is that he has an ethical dilemma upgrading his Win 7/8/8.1 machines to Windows 10 using the Assistive Technologies loophole. And that his company has no natural Windows 10 licenses that he can use to manage Hyper-V.
What ethical dilemma? There is no such thing as an Assistive Technologies loophole.

It was presented as a loophole, which is kind of a grey area but after being further clarified I don't think it is a loophole at all.
Just because it was PRESENTED as a loophole doesn't mean it is one. And just because something is a loophole doesn't make it ethically grey.
That's why we were talking about it, to further clarify
There's no ethical grey area and it's definitely not a loophole. Loophole means something specific and is the opposite of this.
