Clutter vs Focused Inbox: Office 365

@Kelly I've never liked clutter or focused inbox. Just give me an inbox and I'll take care of the rest. I'll tell you what is junk and I'll sort the rest with rules.

I know a lot of people have had issues with Clutter, but I found it to actually be useful. It would take all the emails that I get from places like Newegg, Amazon, etc. that I might care about infrequently and pulled them out of my Inbox. Now I have to spend time sorting through emails or building rules.

Didn't like Clutter. Don't know Focused. Seems premature to add something new when what was there isn't reliable yet.

whats wrong with just having your emails listed in the order they are received? That focused thing on my hotmail account never shows me emails that i want to see. Just got a reset pw email for Netflix? Not on focused. Want to read an order receipt from Amazon? Not on focused. If it doesnt show you emails, what is the point of it?

I can't get Focused to even be an option at this point. I'm still playing with Powershell to see if I can turn it on, and what kinds of havoc it will wreak with my Outlook on Mac/AppleMail clients.
I'm missing clutter more than wishing for Focused Inbox. I thought it was gimmicky at first, but now I realize how much it helped me filter out semi solicited vendor spam.

Well if you just wanted to read emails, you'd probably not choose Exchange at all

I've been using Zimbrs a lot recently with a client and let me tell you.... I'd forgot how easy mail could be. So much better.

I know I'm going to be roundly castigated for this, but I miss clutter. Focused Inbox isn't working for me yet, so all of the semi spam that I get from vendors that would get shunted into clutter is now cluttering up my inbox. I haven't had this much crap in my inbox in a long time.
Focused Inbox is extremely stupid. Let me handle what is clutter. I don't need, essentially, two junk mail boxes.

Also, you can just disable it. @Kelly @scottalanmiller
Go to Outlook > Settings (gear) > Layout > Focused Inbox > Don't sort messages.

I never saw a use for Clutter, other than having an additional spam folder to check. So I disabled it.

This was my opinion on Clutter. Only one client found it useful and the rest asked for it to be disabled.

Nobody saw it useful and asked us to disable it too.

There's a script for that. I'll post it when I get in the office.
I disabled it once in the GUI and it turned back on later. I then disabled it with remote powershell and it has never come back on.

To disable for individual users:
Set-clutter -identity [email protected] -Enable $falseFor an entire organization (tenant)
Get-Mailbox | Set-Clutter -Enable $falseYou do have to be signed into your O365 environment by PowerShell:
$session = New-PSSession -ConfigurationName Microsoft.Exchange -ConnectionUri "https://outlook.office365.com/powershell-liveid/" -Credential $cred -Authentication Basic -AllowRedirectionIt will ask you to authenticate. Use your normal creds.
Import-PSSession $session
You will see another module load and you're in to run the above scripts.
