I have mix impression about this speaker. Kind of hard to understand which question he is answering when he doesn't read the question out loud.
You have to give him some leeway, English is not his first language, obviously. He's doing a great job.

I understand. I don't mind the accent, but trying to decipher the question from the answer is kind of confusing.
Although he does read out some questions. -

ok, TBH if you get self-supported cmd-line only stuff, why can't you do this with glusterfs+targetcli on centos with xfs?!
IMHO this is just a windows shop vs linux shop stuff! Not I'm saying this is a bad thing! no it is great, just wondering about comparisons... and this seems a lot of centos+gluster+LVM(+libvirt if you hyperconverge)Starwind is coming on Linux, too. Some releases already out. Also, Gluster isn't really built for that, Starwind is a lot more performant.
also I've discovered starwind can do async, which is important if your dr stuff is not on par with your production stuff perf-wise.

I registered, but missed the call.

now. I'm on.
StarWind has got it going on! They've been doing this stuff before Microsoft finally got around to implementing some of it... such as S2D and other Datacenter features.
Anyone get ahold of all the slides? I missed it... was super busy at work today.

This is awesome to finally have out and official. We've been talking about it for weeks but haven't had an announcement to point to.
@kooler we should celebrate! Let's do drinks. In say... 50 hours?
yes, we'll do that! what about some nice Sicilian place around here? (LOL, at least you'll tell how local ones suck compared to italy)
P.S. Max is in game

There were only the two slides that were shown here other than the title and finished slides. It was all PowerShell demo.

They said it would be posted on their site at the end of the call.

We did! We'll share content around next week.

Hopefully soon someone can make us guide about this, I am interested especially if we can pair it with KVM

They will, and you can.

I have a 2-node setup running in VirtualBox now. I whoopsied and forgot to adjust a few things in the poweshell scripts, so no real-world data yet.
The setup is easy if you follow along their Quick guide posted on the VSAN free page. It covers how to use the PowerShell scripts to set it up.
Better details tomorrow, hopefully!

Excellent! Ping me if you'd need anything (like evergreen NFR etc). Good luck!

I like the PowerShell sample files that come with it. They make things easier to configure!
As I understand the documentation I'm reading, the actual GUI console is part of the paid product now, right?

Correct. But I believe you get it for 30 days even with the free one? I'm trying to recall the webinar from last week.

That is accurate, you have 30 days of the complete gui console. After that it drops down to powershell only.
