Chinese man marries AI Robot he built him self..
-
The sad thing about this is he likely used a sex doll framework and loaded it with a raspberry pi...
No pun intended... . .

And his mother attended the wedding...
Sounds like a bad joke, but it really happened.
If he built it himself, he married his own child? Is that legal?

Technically the marriage isn't sanctioned, so yes and no. It's not a child in the eyes of the world because it doesn't grow up. And its not a person cause its not even a business, just property.

A child vs. HIS child. Your child is YOUR CHILD forever.
-
No it's not "a child" or even considered "a person" he married property.
-
If I made a desktop I don't get to call it my child just because it can operate AI technology. Even if I wrote the code that became AI.
It's just property.

What you're both missing is that anyone who would want to marry an AI robot is facked in the head, so what does it really matter in the grand scheme of things? A maladjusted individual that can't handle dating or socializing builds a machine for sex and companionship.... who cares? Why would you even debate whether his device is a wife or a child??? Doesn't strike me as a dangerous person, so let him do whatever the hell he wants. Arguing the semantics of what he did kinda brings you down to his level of crazy, why are you so concerned about it?
-
@RojoLoco I wasn't trying to go down that route, @scottalanmiller went there.
I agree, he's broken mentally and likely needs help. The rational for discussing it is I'm sure these kinds of things will occur more often as AI advances.
Which begs the question, can you marry property?
