YouTube offers new streaming service

It's gotta be south of $20 a month to catch my eye
-
Still waiting to get out of my DirecTV contract to switch to Sling TV. Hopefully their CloudDVR solution will be out of beta by then.
-
@ChrisL All I really want is History, Discovery, and SciFi. If I could only pay for those 3, then I'd consider it.

How about History + SyFy for $25? They don't get Discovery.

That'd be tempting if I didn't already have more than I could possibly watch in a lifetime on Netflix and Prime. That's the real reason I don't want to pay the ever increasing cost for cable TV.
-
@travisdh1 That's what I'm trying to get out of. The only thing that is tempting me to stay is the DVR.
Sling has no contracts. You cancel when you want.
-
@NerdyDad DVRing sports? Most network stuff is available next day on Hulu (pay me, Hulu).

Do they have BBC America? That is a requirement for my Whoovian wife.
-
All i want from streaming services is for one of them to sign a contract with WEC and F1 to stream their races, as a paid add-on for like 5-10 bucks a month on top of the base. Then they could have all my streaming dollars for the rest of my life. Dont care if it is Amazon or Netflix or Youtube.
-
The DVR is the requirement for me. I still often like to watch things the day they are released, but time shifted 30 mins so I can skip commercials.

Same, but just might watch it when life lets me.

yep, I'm in the same boat. It's not unusual for me to go a week and miss almost everything... then I would be fine with typical streaming..
But I'm not a fan of Hulu's crap ads. And my friends who have paid the higher no ad version said there are still ads, so - yeah no thanks.
-
@NerdyDad They have BBC America, but no Dr. Who, as far as I know.

I put up with the ads because I cut the cord a long time ago, so I reason that I can stand a few since I'm not bombarded with them all the time.

We have the "No Ad" version. Only one show we watch has ads.. and it's only one at the beginning and one at the end of the show... So nice when compared with trying to watch shows on TV.

Looks interesting. Do you have one of these? Will it record from Sling?

I do have one of these, I don't have sling personally, plus I don't watch that much TV to need sling. I don't believe you can record from sling either.
But you can pick up over the air channels for free, watch youtube and add slingtv packages too it.
