Free FreePBX Fax (non ATA)

Anybody have a fax portal that's free that you can send/receive faxes from/to? PDF attachments etc. Something that's friendly with FreePBX. Thanks #hubtechlives

You mean other than what's included inside FreePBX?

It can be done but someone would have to write an interface. The backend is there, but there was never a built in front end to send faxes.

AvantFax and HylaFax can be added to any standard Asterisk distro. Nerdvittles' IncrediblePBX has a script for their distro to do it.

One would just need to go through the script and make it work for FreePBX most likely.

The above IncredibleFax script is designed to work with PBX in a Flash.

I have never setup faxing on any PIAF distros I have setup over the years, so I am unfamiliar with the details of how it works, but they Nerd Vittles site does say that it works with email.

It is all AvantFax for the GUI interface to HylaFax.

Obviously Elastix has some functionality also, but it is so unstable anymore.

I assume that Elastix 4 has as much as 2 did, but I've not looked for it.
