I'm curious to see what the new Nexus is going to look like, and how expensive it's going to be. I really wish I was on Android for my main phone.
I was on an phone 6 until last week I switched (anyone want to buy an iphone 6??)
Actually I might be interested for my mother in law if it is verizon.
It's AT&T
No worries we will try to find her something local. Tech is not one of her strengths. She has an old crappy tiny non-smart phone. She wants a smartphone now and I told her no way for android lol. She doesn't even know how to save contacts in her phone now. She remembers everyone numbers instead and looks in her history if she has too to call them and figure out who they are...

When I had an Android, I loved modding and custom ROMs--this brought me back!
Yep that is me, too. Every month or two I wipe my phone and start over. It seems like every time I start from scratch I build something better for productivity. I really like this smart launcher. It has definitely increased productivity as I don't find myself searching for apps like before.
I used to on low end phones but I don't see me doing that on Nexus devices cause it's vanilla android. the rom's I usually did to get rid of the sluggishness from the stock customized junk.
I don't use low end android devices. I think they are generally junk. I would rather have a Galaxy S5 which is generations old vs something newer where corners are cut.

I couldn't be on an iphone for personal use. Too restrictive for me.
Company phone. I can't take my personal one into work.
From a corporate perspective I definitely understand the iOS being preferred for mobile devices. More restrictvie by nature and not as easy to find backdoors, install malicious apps, etc.
Oh yeah I love the sandboxed nature of it for that.. Hate it for connivance personally. I used it for years but got tired of it. I can just not install crazy apps using it myself.
Exactly. Apple thinks users are too dumb for this type of power and yes most are. As tech guys we want the freedom to do whatever we want with our device. We know the risks and accept them.

Try smart launcher. They have a free version. I bought the paid version after using the free one because I loved it so much.

This one does what I need so no biggie there. I've tried several. Over the last few months. I'd really like to try some of the fun ones that let you totally build your own shell, essentially, but I find them to be cumbersome and all that.
I'll give SmartLauncher another go and see how it does.

cool. It only takes about 5 mins to setup. Use the Ubuntu or Unity theme.

How do I change the theme? Or can I do that from the free version?

You have to download the theme separately from the Play store.

The pixel? it looks ok from the leaked stuff so far...but anyone taking bets on whether it'll have expandable storage or not yet...? The biggest downfall of the nexus phones (still love my 5, but it's just so limiting only having 12GB usable storage...)

I think you need pro for that.

I wondered about that... then I realized I actually had purchased Apex a long time ago. I saw it when I did a search for launchers, lol.
That one works well too.

I'm using Nexus 6p with Android 7.0 here. Hoping they fix the BLE bugs, and the issue with Cisco Jabber.
I'm really liking Android N, many small tweaks that I really enjoy!

I have Nova Pro and I used it up until I found Smart Launcher.
Have you ever used Nova?
