Sharepoint Wiki code markdown

For those of you using Sharepoint wiki for documentation, have you found a way to do code blocks?
In other words:
I want a way to display code snippets in a SharePoint wiki like this.

I have not. It sucks for that.

@scottalanmiller OK, well at least I'm not going crazy. I've been searching for a way to do it but haven't found anything. That sucks, the code formatting on this forum rocks.

Yeah. Works way better here. Works great on MediaWiki too.

@scottalanmiller Best I could find so far is this: http://hilite.me/

Custom CSS and / or some JS syntax highlighting maybe?

That could work. I really don't understand why MS cant just have it build in. In today's landscape, I shouldn't need to do anything extraordinary to display some code blocks. I want to type 4 back ticks, paste some code and call it a day! </rant>

Would require a custom WYSIWYG editor, IMHO. Not that hard, a custom page could do.

CSS an JS highlighting won't do it as the issue isn't markup but getting mangled by the editor.
