Pissy Reporter on Amazon Fire Phone
-
His Bio seems legit, I'd read it.
"The pseudonymous author Robert X. Cringely has been covering the foibles and follies of Silicon Valley since 1986, and writes InfoWorld's Notes from the Field blog. With a fedora on his head and a keyboard in his hands, he wrangles rumors, gathers gossip, and reports the stories the world's high-tech honchos don't want you to hear."
-
I have always felt that Cringley doesn't make that publication look very serious.

Didn't also have an image of him as a cat person?

Could be. I think that he's been around for a long time. That kinda sounds familiar.

His writing comes across like he has a giant chip on his shoulder towards Amazon. I mean it's fine to call a spade a spade, but geez, have a little dignity.

I'd have a chip on my shoulder if they banned me from their events, too. Then again, I wouldn't have done what he did in order to get banned.

He comes across as bitter and pathetic, and not at all funny. How does he still have a job?

Couldn't have said it better myself!

People still read his stuff and post links on other sites...

I suspect that he is very cheap and controversial.
-
@alexntg No one here has had anything to say about what he wrote, only how he wrote it. After reading that article, Infoworld has gone down a bit in reputation in my eyes.

And controversy sells ads.
