The wizard on the Ubiquiti will set that up for you.

I have you the answer. Start over. What is the first thing you do with any router?

I was trying to get him to say that.

There most certainly is a config wizard.

Using your phone? To get to the web interface? why not use a laptop or desktop?

EdgeRouter X definitely has a wizard. I set one up for my dad two weeks ago, it's the exact model that he uses.

Don't forget to update your firmware, always, before starting as well.

You download to a PC and upload it. You always do that before you start installing a new networking device (or any device.) Do updates before you start so that you don't start with unnecessary risk.

You don't. you also have no point in having a router though.

You don't start in the middle. How many times have I said that now?

That's not the X. But we have that one too, and it definitely has wizards. But they aren't there if you didn't put modern firmware on it. The X always has the wizards because there are no old stock items predating the wizards. But the Lite comes with firmware potentially many years old that doesn't work. You need to get it updated and it will "just work" once you do that.

Plug your laptop in directly, download the latest firmware, update the router, plug in the router and let it guide you through the setup.
