Mac Mini server - Frankenstein

Well it doesn't look pretty inside, but at least our rack won't just have a random mini and external hard drive loosely sitting on another device. It was decided that we would have a Mac Mini as a central device for Time Machine backups. It's running the perfectly designed (sarcasm) software: OSX Server.

@BBigford Nice idea. Bought or repurposed / DIY case?
-
Ah, looks like you stuffed that into the Cisco case?

@scottalanmiller we should really have a "Frankenstein'd Projects" category.

Ah ok, thanks.

Oh this is for Apples' backup appliance. I was curious as I saw it on that other site.

It's not technically their backup appliance as I've kinda janked it together to be one... What I did was install OSX Server (which is now an application for $20) on a Mini. Then in Server I setup a backup location which is an external disk, plugged into the Mini. I took the case off the disk because it wouldn't fit in the chassis, so it's just the board and disk, taped down to the chassis with double sided foam adhesive.
