      @Jason True analog

      Then there's nothing much to setup. Plug it in to an FXS port and make it auto answer (many ATAs won't do this as you normally need something to do the off hook).

      Agreed. That's the quick and cheap way.

      This would be the more elegant method:

        FXS port is the worst way to handle it IMO.

        I prefer the SNOM PA-1 or CyberData's similar device instead of using a basic ATA (FXS port).

        These devices are designed to work with various analog systems.

            Grandsteam HT701 doesn't seem to support auto-answer.

              Unless you already have an FXS port that can do it and just need a quick fix, don't do it. Spend the money on a proper solution. Though they generally aren't cheap. We use all Valcom stuff for paging systems, they make the best in the industry.

                When you already have a legacy system in place, the best thing to buy is the Snom PA1 for $100. If you have nothing at all, and needs to build an entire system, there are a lot of choices.

                  Here's me as an old school drug dealer. Not pictured is my sun glasses with the beeper attached to them so it's on the side of my head.
