            Can somebody mention how to set the mysql password?

            In he directory /var/www/elastixdir/asteriskconf

            there is a file elastix_pbx.conf, which shows

            DBNAME = elxpbx
            DBUSER = asteriskuser
            DBPASSWORD = palosanto
            DBHOST = localhost

            But NO mysql database is found in the mysql ????????

              Did you run my script? It asks for the MySQL password at the end of the script. Sets automatically.

                That means that you are missing packages in nearly all cases.

                    I did follow all the steps mentioned in the blackbox above & rebooted the server. Did not get any prompt to set passwords! What am I missing??

                    Just realized this is the MT, not the Elastix 4 thread. This script is old, the Elastix 4 one was just updated to fix issues.

                      I need elastix MT. What should be done now? Re-run the script?

                        This has been on my list to revisit, so checking into it now. What host are you running on (Rackspace, Digital Ocean, etc.)

                                You are going to want to rebuild that system. Publishing your IP address and root password to the public means you can't trust the system at all. I know that you are just testing it right now, but this means that you can never trust that system again.

                                  Yes I agree, this cloud server will be scrapped eventually. I just wanted Scott
                                  to have a system installed rather than doing it again on his own system!

                                    I have an updated script running now. So far, it is looking promising. We learned a lot doing the Elastix 4 this week.

                                        I think you want me to test it first 🙂

                                        On Digital Ocean right now.

                                          And it works. Script at top has been updated. Just take that and run it on a CentOS VM. Should prompt for passwords and reboot to a working system.
