It might be 2013 now, I know the Lync brand has been discontinued, but I need a test anyways as we have a client who runs Lync (haven't updated to skype for busines)

haha.. Upgraded to skype for business...

Or kept current on Lync, either 🙂

Lync has been completely discontinued from everything I've found.

Which is where the problem comes in.

Well of course, Lync refers to old version of Skype for Business. Lync and MS Communicator are now gone.

I might still have it on a machine. I had issues with it connecting to o365, so when I cut the org from the on prem lync server most all the clients were upgraded to Skype for Business 2016.

Does the Lync client need to be connected to o365?

@Mike-Davis I'm not certain about that, but I'd be on a o365 org Skype for Business account.

Ideally I'd like to test with an active Lync service, which I might have found someone who has one, waiting for them to show up.

I'll keep you updated, thanks for the offer.

Do you need Lync 2010 CLIENT or SERVER? I still have 2010 client running on an XP VM that I can spin up, and our infrastructure is all currently Lync 2013 on prem

@jt1001001 The issue with VM's (at least in my environment) is that I have no Microphone or Webcam pass through, so no way to truly test the software.

But thank you for the offer.

I did install a trial of the 2013 - 32bit Lync client on a Windows 10 VM, held a meeting and was able to join from my workstation without issue.

But it only had screen sharing functionality. Which I guess answers the question, it works but the boss would like further testing.

I am in a meeting but I found a physical XP system with 2010 client stil on it (don't ask). Let me know if you need testing still and I can be available sometime today.

Yeah this device isn't in working condition it would seem, let me do some more testing but I'll likely take you up on that offer.
