Examples of Malware My Clients Once Fell Victim to Include...

I still remember the little purple nightmare named Bonzi Buddy that single-handedly brought down our family computer. Hey, I was young. I liked monkeys that sang to me.
It's time to get nostalgic. What are some of the most notorious examples of malware that have fooled clients throughout your IT careers? What malware have you forgotten about until now? Any viruses that have been haunting you for years?

I've actually, knock on wood, never had a major malware issue at home or at work. Of course, the nuke from orbit and never run as admin policies that I am strict about, even at home, tend to do a lot to curtail that. There has been malware, of course, but never anything epic.

When I was first hanging my own shingle as an IT consultant we were suggesting to all of our clients that they should purchase and install AV everywhere.
One client flatly said no. The next week they were hit with Code Red. $5K+ later we had them back up an running along with new AV.

Even in the 1990s that was ridiculous. How does someone manage to get enough money to start a business or hire an IT consultant but doesn't have the brain power to use AV?
