@dafyre I guess the auto updater takes a while, we usually let it simmer a bit before making it available everywhere
Packages and downloads should be up to date by now, though.

The issue, esp with open source projects like ours, is that people are often afraid to test the beta's. So when the .0 comes out, we've run our automated tests, coders have tested and some handful of users did tests so the common cases work just fine - but all these corner cases still have issues hiding because users who have non-standard setups didn't help test.
That is why I always say when people ask me "when should I upgrade?": AFTER you have helped test, because that is the only way to make sure YOUR specific situation is tested and issues are fixed.
And thus, if you want the cool new stuff in a .0 as soon as possible, test it in your situation while it is in Beta or RC phase so problems can be fixed and you will notice that .0 is perfectly stable

I actually don't think that that is true. You are assuming that there is logic to it, but there is not. It is purely an emotional reaction coming from a misconception in the Windows world combined with years of myth and rumour. It's actually about the number itself, not the release cycle or 0 would be all people waited for. By changing the numbers I think you actually solve the problem.

Time to get installed. But first I need to figure out how to get back into my 7.x install my password does not work for some reason. I have root access though.
I want to get my stuff redownloaded and then nuke the install and start over.

I downloaded and installed my by hand.
I did that the first time when I was having issues with their repos... When I reinstalled it I used their yum repo... it worked amazing.

There are a few packages that I rarely install from a repository. ownCloud happens to be one of them, lol.

Wait... you compile everything from source or otherwise install the binaries? That seems like a lot more work then having a package manager do it.

No, lol. There are a few packages (like ownCloud) that are easy enough to set up by hand and know I get the most recent packages.
Most everything I install from packages... But thing like ownCloud and WordPress... mostly because I can, lol.

I've had to do it twice now... even though I know the password is correct it still seems to break somehow. Not sure if it is database corruption or what.
