Solved Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro Does Not Go Full Screen in Many Games
-
I just checked mine. I have the same version that's listed, but the date on my machine is March 2015, and the website is Aug 2015

@scottalanmiller Didn't you reinstall with a different OS right out of the box? And, we all know how proprietary OS's handle drivers. That's got to be a root issue, and definitely a detail worthy of mention.

When you say a different OS, do you mean like installing Linux instead of Windows? Or do you mean it came with Windows 8.1, and he simply wiped and reinstalled Windows 8.1?

I think he put windows 10 on it...?
-
Yes, it has Windows 10 on it.

@art_of_shred I had the same problems as Scott when I had Windows 8.1 on my Yoga 2 Pro. Win10 doesn't seem to be any different.

And so does mine now.
@scottalanmiller what video driver do you have today? I have a fairly recent one that came with Windows 10.
-
@Dashrender I reverted to a really old driver. It's from 2006. So yeah.
I think that the one I had trouble with was from July of 2015. I am going to try a driver directly from Intel dated 26/10/2015. We'll see what happens.
-
That will be a 5 - 12 hour download.
-
Curious:
What's the native res on the laptop?
Is it touch screen?
Have you had the same issue on an external monitor?
-
Yes, it is touch screen.

Okay, here's the update:
I downloaded the current driver directly from Intel, tried to install it, and got the error that it wasn't certified for my machine, so I needed to get the driver directly from Lenovo. I went to Lenovo (huge pain in the ass because it detects me as Nicaragua and will only give me that site in Spanish) and eventually managed to find the Windows 10 driver for this machine. It is from July, and I'm pretty sure it's the one that was giving me problems before, but I decided to download and install it anyway and cross my fingers that I wouldn't have the same problems this time. After installing, I opened one of the problem games and it goes to full screen. So for now, this is resolved, but if I start having the screen flicker issues again, I'm going to have to just live with not playing those games until Lenovo updates the driver.

Would you mind loading up Virtual box on that machine and see how it behalves now?

@Dominica Are Spanish drivers compatible with English machines?
