Notifications now hyper? Or just me

Same here, I always set it as I wanted, didn't use defaults. Maybe defaults were kept as "no specification" rather than as set so that when the defaults changed, those that didn't set them in any particular way got the new defaults. Only thing I could guess.

Not sure what the default is. Originally it was infinite scroll. So if you switched to pagination, that would be a change and thus your profile settings have been saved.
I would really like to know if any people experiencing problem did save a preference change in the past. Because everyone who has confirmed to have made a change in the past was not affected.
The single user to confirm he never made a save in the past was affected.

I turned that off long ago. And just seconds ago it started sending me stuff!

Nope
I had to turn them on save and then shut them off and save to get rid of them. -
Infinite scroll is still the default AFAIK.
