Cell phone versus tablet
-
For woman who are carrying a purse already it's less of an issue, but for a guy - carrying a tablet of any size (a tablet, not a phablet - i.e. the Note 3) requires either carrying the tablet everywhere, or wearing some kind of strap/satchel/murse, etc.
-
I'm hoping the rumors are true and they are going to release an iPhablet with the 6....

There are cool coats just to solve that issue:

Definitely an idea, and I guess it's cool enough in Nebraska to wear it 9 out of 12 months.

I might need that.

For me it is almost pure iPhone use and very little tablet time. I can type far better on the phone because of the on screen keyboard size and because I am always mobile there is little chance to use the full size tablet.

I feel the same. I personally rarely use my tablet (android based) because it's horrible for data entry. Now with the new plans from ATT and included teathering, I'll consider bringing it with more.. but I might skip the tablet and bring the Yoga 2 Pro instead, just have to have the key board for replying to posts here.

i could use a note3 sized iphone just fine. and hope i get the opportunity, and apologize that i never capitalize my i's
-
If I wasn't so mobile I could make use of either I think. But the phone form factor seems to be the most important for me.
-
A big iPhone would do me. The current one is too small, so I end up using my iPad quite a bit - I flick between the two. Having one big phone would be perfect, but would Apple produce something that discourages people from buying both a phone and a tablet?
Big enough to work on, small enough to fit in my trouser pocket.
-
The iPad Mini almost does that. Can't hold it like a phone but many if us never do that using Bluetooth only.
-
The iPad mini definitely doesn't fit in my pocket and I'm not ready for a man-bag.
-
i love my man bag....

I carry a girly version of this:

I carry a phone everywhere since it fits in my pocket. If I'm going to carry a bag then I'd rather just have a laptop with a keyboard. I do have an iPad mini at home, which is mostly used for playing games
-
To the OP, if you don't have a phone with you, what do you do for 911? I don't have a cell phone outside of work, and use Skype on my iPad mini, but don't use it as a phone (via Skype) much. It would be great if they just put a darn phone in it. They already have a 4G module in it.

I carry a Porter bag.

I currently carry an IPhone and an IPad pretty much everywhere I go. Heck even when I go to gigs I use my Ipad for running sound. I often wonder if I should just carry the IPad mini with me only and give up the phone.
Cell phones are getting larger do you see them taking the place of the tablet or better yet will the tablet replace the phone?
Specific to the topic, I will not replace my phone yet because I do not want to carry something larger all the time. I like the small convenient form factor. If I really need something bigger, it will be in the car (assuming non work scenario). Any other time I have my bag with me anyway.

I use a sling bag all of the time. I can fit a tablet and a ultrabook if necessary.
