If he is intent on a device, could you just use a chromecast?
MS CRM would be the tough part. Has anyone tested MS CRM on a Chromebook / Chromebox? I know a ton of companies are using Chromeboxes for this kind of thing, but no idea how MS CRM will work. I assume that it will work fine.

I think the Windows sticks won't have any problems with CRM. Intel comes with Windows 10. Considering the size and having Windows OS I am leaning towards Windows sticks, but confused which is better. Anyone used these or alternative Windows tinypc?

After reading this thread, I've just ordered an Intel stick. It should arrive tomorrow. I can let you know what it's like if you want
I prefer Windows to Chrome for lots of reason. My biggest annoyance is the lack of Windows Pro, and hence the inability to join a domain.

MS CRM if using a hosted version is fine (aka Office365 CRM is fine) but an on premise will be trickier on a chromebook. Chromebooks are fine if you are doing all webbased and don't really want any power beyond web surfing.

Exactly this!
Unless your company is pretty much already ready to make the move to Chromebooks across the board, I wouldn't install a chromebox on that TV. Today what he wants to work might be OK, but tomorrow he'll as for something that requires more because he'll be thinking of it as a Windows type device.

I use Winbooks velcro'd to the back of a TV for GPS software. up on a wall display because the software requires windows.
Non-domain joined systems but the work for the need and cost < $100.

No, there was a delivery problem. Hopefully today!

Always tough waiting for new toys to arrive
-
It is indeed
And then when it arrives, you have to resist the temptation to stop the more important projects that you're currently working on in order to play.
-
Did it arrive?

We are eager to know the results @Carnival-Boy

He is probably having so much fun with it that he isn't around to report back
-
My colleague is going to set it up, but he's busy. I have taken it out of the box and managed to drop it on the floor though, which is a good start
-
Too busy to play with new toys?!?
-
I'm working him too hard!
