I like my Lenovo yoga 2 pro.

the only issue is the ultra high res on regular desktop apps is not very conducive up the good work.

Would you buy another one? I am leaning heavily towards the Yoga 2 11S. Is that the same as the pro?

          I
don't believe the 11 as has the hyper high resolution that the two Pro has.

the biggest complaint that I really have about the yoga to pro is that I had to replace the wireless card as soon as I got it because the one that came from the manufacturer did not work correctly. Unfortunately I didn't realize this because I wasn't using it very much during the first month I had it so I couldn't return it. But on the other hand a good thing is the new card that I install is now in AC card.

what I buy it again hmm maybe then again I might also get the non pro version also which has the lower, HD quality Screen.

I recommend Pertino if you will be mobile.
For fixed access where you use one to many, or site to site, I like OpenVPN setups. I prefer hardware based solutions such as the Ubiquiti EdgeMax Lite over software as most places I deal with do not have a VM infrastructure everywhere.

What kind of infrastructure are you looking to remote into? How large is the environment? Is it running Active Directory?

For me, Sophos UTM includes VPN. Does your edge firewall include VPN? Most business-grade devices do.

Sorry guys, I wasnt very clear with my question.

I am looking for a mobile device not a means of VPN connection. I think I finally settled on a Surface Pro 2. Does anyone own one?

                    P.S. Pertino is awesome 😄

Hmm, I misread that post! Though I am interested in your thoughts on the Pro 2 once you buy it. @Minion-Queen recently purchased one I believe. I am in the market for a new device for my wife. Still debating a Pro2 or iPad Air.

The reviews I have been reading have all been good. I will let you know because I will probably pull the trigger early this week.

An iPad wont work for me. I want to have a full laptop replacement

Why are you going for that over a traditional ultrabook? I'm still trying to work out which is best.

Yes. Right now I am using a Dell XT2 which I upgraded to Windows 8.1 and put in a SSD. It works out ok, but its just a dated PC. I use it in tablet mode most of the time So I assume that the MS Surface Pro 2 would work even nicer as a tablet.

For my wife, it really does not matter. She has not used her laptop more than 3 times in 2 years now. Those times were to edit Word documents. With the new Office apps on iPad or a Surface Pro, that will be a non issue.

Did she get the 4GB or 8GB RAM version? I am wondering if the extra $300 is justified.

I use a virtual desktop for my primary workstation. I can access it from nearly any device. In a sense, it gives me Windows on my iPad. With application compatibility problems out the window, it comes down to non-work functions, form factor, and weight.

This tablet has enough power under the hood to be a laptop replacement. Many reviewers used it for Photoshop or casual PC gaming on a daily basis.

I could use VNC on my android tablet and essentially do everything I need to do except its not really comfortable for doing any extensive work.
