That pretty much sums it up. I was literally going to order a Huawei watch this week because I thought that the price and look was amazing. But no, that seems like a bad idea now (if they figure things out, I'll totally buy one to support them later.) Right now I need one this week to wear to Europe (smart watches are an important part of effective travel.) I want something attractive and very functional.

The Samsung is nice, but too pricey. I'm thinking $150 - $200. This is a utilitarian travel device not a fancy watch. Right now from quick research, I'm seeing a lot of love for Fossil and Amazfit. Anyone have experience or thoughts?

      I have this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NC8PMUK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I didn't even realize Lenovo made watches. Not surprised, they are quite big.

That link goes to a Motorola Moto for me. What are you seeing?

      ok?
So google sold motorola to Lenovo..
      What's so bad about that?

Search on ML for Lenovo. Literally the most evil company in the tech industry.

I mean I know they've done some shady things but....

      giphy.gif

For someone else to gain BIOS access, all they need to do is be within wifi range when you reboot. That's for starters.

My point is that there's a lot of evil likely going down in tech companies far beyond what Lenovo has done. That's not to minimize Lenovo, just saying it feels like a bit of hyperbole.

I don't see anywhere it mentions that this watch runs Google Wear OS. Was that supposed to be a requirement?

Just because it's compatible with an Android device doesn't mean it runs Google's Wear OS. Fitbit doesn't run Wear OS, yet it connects to Android phones. Two separate things.

We've discussed painting/staining our exterior brick. It's just sort of bland and I think lightening it with a white or something would give it more curb appeal. Painting/staining brick is commonly done on these HGTV remodel shows.

not a fan of the start menu changes... but it's still faster than before.

@Dashrender said in What Are You Doing Right Now:

Notice the left most part of the bar is gone as soon as you start searching for something.

That is Cortana/Search, not the start menu.

It's not, Cortana has been removed from the integration of search starting with 1903. Originally, this build had a separate Cortana icon next to the search box.

to get what I showed in my picture, I clicked on the start button, then started typing, just like i have been doing with Windows 10 since day one.

That is not and never has been the Start menu. it is a Search window. Cortana integration or not is not relevant.

Did you actually read the entire thing? Anytime Scott goes on those 8 post rants where he's writing a paragraph to every 4 words, I have to just skip those. Kudos to anyone who survived the whole thing.

Yeah Illinois dropped theirs from $400 in 2017

Well maybe that link is up to date then, and the article still references the original publish date.

We had a local lawyer help us form ours and I don't remember exactly, but I think it might have cost around $200 give or take. So unless you feel comfortable doing it yourself or through LegalZoom, etc. that's an additional cost. Still not bad.

I currently use the Google Pixel XL, but I think next phone will be the Pixel 3a XL or equivalent. Don't need the high end specs and the price point is good

I'm fascinated by the number of people who report issues with sleep these days. I've never had trouble sleeping and my body has always demanded 8-9 hours nightly. For those of you who struggle with it, have you ever seen a physician about it? Do you have any ideas as to why it's tough for you and things you think would help?

I don't have "issues" per se. It's just that my body doesn't let me sleep more than six hours, that's all the sleep my body can stand.

Ok and do you feel rested after these 6 hours? If so, I think I would actually prefer that.

Oh yeah. Totally rested. Dont normally get tired again for about 19 hours.

@scottalanmiller said in Fitness and Weightloss:

I refuse to use alarms except for extreme things like catching a flight. So my sleep is always "sleep till my body says to wake up"

See I envy these. I'd love to sleep 5-6 hours a night and be fully rested, given that it doesn't negatively affect my health.
