RE: Proxy vs Hardware Firewall
I like my Sophos UTM SG 210. For an SMB, this thing is great!

@dafyre Really? I just paid about 60 bucks for annual maintenance. Seems to be cheaper than the pro version of mobaxterm.
Haven't looked at the pro version but what do you get extra that's useful?
No annual renewal for the MobaXTerm. Just renewals for major version upgrades.
For Free vs Pro see : http://mobaxterm.mobatek.net/download.html
I bought MobaXterm before I'd heard about RoyalTS. That's another one that looks pretty good.
RoyalTS looks pretty good too.

RE: Proxy vs Hardware Firewall
UTM can combine these things and others into a single physical appliance or a virtual one.

I didn't know you could go in whatever pattern. I always filled from 0-x

Ease of use and channel selection is why I haven't left cable yet.
Those are exactly the reasons I don't have cable/satellite anymore.
it wasn't easy to use?
Not really. Content was very hard to find when I wanted it, there were these loud intermissions on every channel every few minutes. Not easy to use at all. Much less so then clicking a button and instantly having the content you want without crazy loud breaks.
You mean commericals..... "loud breaks" that is one way to describe them... the actors need to pee too, they literally live inside that small box on your wall...
Following that to its logical conclusion- they are peeing inside there too!

RE: Consumer Oculus Rift - $600?
Wow! I wasn't expecting this price. For that kind of money, I will wait for v 2.

RE: How to Reset Local Administrator Password on Server
@shybrsky Looks like it is domain-wide (not just that server). Have you tried logging in directly (in front of the server) or with iDRAC/iLO?

RE: Who's getting a new phone in 2016?
@Dashrender I have not heard anything about the sealed/sd card aspect- I have seen 16-core CPU, 30MP Rear-Facing camera/16MP front, 8GB RAM, 4K 6"+ flexible screen, coming in 32,64,128,256GB versions. I doubt most of it is true, though.

@JaredBusch D'oh! I always forget about that part!

RE: LastPass changes
@scottalanmiller I started with LMI when they were free and stuck with them and paid 200 bucks a year. Last year they increased it without any notification to over $400 and so I checked out TeamViewer but they are still more expensive (at least they were when I last checked).
The main thing I liked about it after the price increase was that ninite pro had an auto updater for it. They also have one for TeamViewer. Do you know if ScreenConnect requires admin rights for updates?

RE: SSH Clients for Windows
I use ASG VisionApp Remote Desktop 2015 for all my server/appliance "remoting" needs.
http://www.visionapp.com/germany/solutions/asg-remote-desktop.htmlTabbed RDP, VNC, ICA, SSH (via Putty) and Telnet. Licensed per admin so I can install on my workstation and laptops.

RE: Are there advantages to using Snipe-IT and Spiceworks for Inventory/Assest Management?
@JaredBusch Did not know that. I was referring to any previous version, then. I will have to check it out.
-Installed as an app on a mobile device or the server, or _____ ?

RE: Who's getting a new phone in 2016?
@Dashrender Note 5 came out several months ago. It is sealed with no SD card slot. It would be the 6, rumored for this year's release that I am interested in.

RE: BackBlaze - Business Options Available
@JaredBusch Hmm. I was thinking of incorporating this method into a filemaker server DB backup, as it requires you to backup to a "local" drive for some strange reason but maybe I will continue creating a copy script to put it on my NAS.

RE: LastPass changes
The question begs to be asked... Whom do you now trust as an alternative to LMI for remote support for remote users?

RE: BackBlaze - Business Options Available
Anyone know if the mklink requires a user be logged in on that system?
