Maybe it is Ubuntu doing something specific. It "just works" on CentOS.
Oh shut up about CentOS. I saw people on CentOS having the exact same issue.

Some hotels might have a "cover" shift to cover when things are busy. Gas stations might too, but gas stations, to the best of my knowledge, don't have a sudden surge in activity in a small window. Hotels do.
Yeah, a 5-hour shift might be ideal for some places. No lunch required, and it gives some extra coverage to a shift.

I'm going to start looking very seriously for something for a second job.....
Hotel overnight shifts make for great second jobs because of the hours and downtime. Many gas stations have good extra shift options too.
I'm kinda hoping for a gas station. I need a 8Pm-1AM or something similar. As long as I get 5-6 hours of sleep, I'll live.
Don't know if they do short night shifts. Hotels normally have an 11PM - 7AM shift.
Yeah, which won't work for me, unless I don't mind not sleeping, which is no longer an option.

Just found out my grandma is in ICU after breaking her other hip, having water on her heat, and now water on her lungs. The nursing home she was in was neglecting and abusing her, but she needs that kind of care. My family situation right now is...complicated to say the least. I'm going to start looking very seriously for something for a second job, as things aren't very good in my financial arena. It's been a hell of a morning, and I just want to go home and curl up under the covers and make the world go away...
That sucks, I hope that she is okay!
Chances are I'll be flying back to NY for a funeral before the year is up...:'(

Got home at midnight last night after leaving straight from the GreyBreakfast. Got to bed at one in the morning and up at seven. Eight hours of sleep total since Tuesday night!!
No, you were passed out after Tuesday night for who knows how many hours. Eight hours is a wrong number.
Just got home. Work, picked up my new ring, got groceries (the Fred Meyers was inside a Krogers! :D) and now are going to start Season 2 of Castle!
Just got to McAfee. I need to schedule my sleep study, as I'm back to sleeping poorly.
@scottalanmiller wow...I was already up for 4 hours when you were just getting up...then again, I'd consumed significantly less alcohol than you...lol

WHY DID YOU NOT TELL ME?!
Very quick dinner. Will see you in Austin. We were too tired to see anyone.
You were literally 2 minutes away!

it is a fine line between using the chat feature and posting in a thread something like this.
Not even close to a fine line. It is an immature, annoying behavior. He posted in more than one thread questioning if @scottalanmiller was driving or not.
@ajstringham needs to just shut up more, or barring that, use the appropriate feature (chat here, or even a direct SMS message as I am sure he has the number).
I somehow seemed to have pissed off a bunch of people...not really sure how or why.

I wasn't trying to be funny. I was genuinely curious.
As far as the t-shirts go, yeah. Maybe you'd never buy them. But still, at an average of $15/shirt if you did, 13 t-shirts is a lot.
