it would be nice if Companies gave discounts to IT Pros doing IT at home. Granted even MS doing away with technet. but I found out since I still have a .edu email I can actually get Microsoft products free through dreamspark.

The license I used for my Datacenter license was Dreamspark.

Won't likely know for a month.

      ANOTHER month?!

      Welcome to my personal hell.

Dang...that's insane! Sounds like they're stalling now.

Yeah I'm not sure why the minimum is 5 for business, but I'll pass along the feedback.

If you have that few devices to protect I think they expect the SOHO folks to just go with a consumer license.

My opinion, for what it is worth, is that a minimum pack of three is more sensible. Call it the "Pro Pack" or something 🙂

      Totally agree with this.

I guess the nuance is lost on me as I've only rarely used IRC.

IRC is a chat room protocol.

XMPP is an instant messaging protocol.

      Similar but different.

As a rule, you use XMPP for one or two people and it's start and end a chat. IRC is basically always up and you just sign on and join it. Similar styles but still different.

So, it appears M$ has taken down mydigitallife.com's list of ISOs that I used to download from and M$'s site will not allow me to download the Refurb w7 image using my clients key(and they of course didn't save a disk). Anybody know where I can quickly download the x64 W7 Refurb ISO?

To my knowledge, the Refurb keys will activate on a normal VL ISO.

As long as it's not Enterprise there is nothing baked in special about the Win7 editions with the channel keys you use (OEM, Retail, VLK or refurb) Some OEM have their own edition with BIOS activation though, but even those if they don't have the proper means to activate automatically will take a normal key.

Usually. I've seen OEM ISOs be screwy about taking even the OEM keys...

That was true in the XP days. With Windows 7 they have too.

Yeah. Haven't dealt with this on 8 or 8.1 as of yet...

So every other text chat client would be a faux IRC as well? uh ok.

No, it's not that it's a text client. It's that it's being used a group chat for real-time consolidation. Me messaging someone or a couple other people doesn't mean it's IRC-esque. However, this is 12-15 people with an always on group. That's what makes it IRC.

Looks like you are using the fat client. Vsphere 5.5 only fully supports the web client

Not true. What you saw there was 5.5. I was told by @Texkonc that VMware is looking to move away from the web client in the future. You can still use the installed client with 5.5. It works no problem.

OK I'm guessing that IRC was first and all - but aren't they all pretty much the same if you're only 'text chatting' these days? If so, is it correct to say Faux IRC?

It's not IRC, but it's being used in the same way as IRC is, thus the faux.

Exactly. Using a Skype group chat in place of an IRC.

Go to the root of the tree for your dropdown, go to the Virtual Machines tab, right click on the headers and add "DNS Name". Try again.

It's not that simple - when you're in the middle of a manic episode and out of touch with reality, you can't help yourself. Her family should be having her committed until they get her stable.

Agreed on getting and staying treated when you are stabilized though.

If she didn't know she was bipolar, that's one thing. I can appreciate that. However, if she knew, and either refused treatment, or refused to get help, then this is on her.

Never watch or heard of these shows.

Then you obviously weren't a 90s baby. These were the shows of my childhood, back when TV was still good, and there was decent stuff to watch on the key kids channels: Cartoon Network, Nick, and Disney.

Nope, sorry. I remember high quality children's television such as pinwheel, square one, and Mister Rogers...

Mister Rogers was a great show. Haven't heard of the other two.
