@thecreativeone91 I added NIC card from the VM settings and added new device as Network Adapter

Right but how is the network connection setup? You're using VMware Workstation, so is it NATing through the computer or does the virutal NIC have it's own IP address?

Wow! That's a lot of new employees! Starting a call center or something?

How do you have your VM Guest Nic setup? By default most are using NAT. NAT will not work for this.

      Agreed.

Well how many times have you been late to your current gig and how long have you been there?

For most people, being late is an annual thing.

I was late once for drastically oversleeping and once because of car trouble. It was just bad luck they happened one after the other. Otherwise, it is an annual thing for me.

I need to know how to write iptable in Centos 6.5 and to open only ssh port and ping port to take the system only in putty to check the status

OMG...NOW I'm getting angry. We've explained this over and over. SSH is open BY DEFAULT. You DON'T have to open it. It's already open! Ping doesn't use a port! It's also open and on BY DEFAULT. Go into PuTTY and JUST TRY SSHing into the box. It will work. JUST TRY pinging it. Have you done this? Can you verify that you CAN'T do these things already? Because right now you're wasting both our time and yours until you can show us that you can't already do these things that are available to do by default.

Seriously? No wonder you have a hard time getting to work on time.

It's very rare I'm late to work.

I think that you have a different definition of rare than most of us do 😉

It's rare. It's not like it's even a monthly thing.

The upgrade from Dev1 to Dev2 is as much as a brand-new Dev2 at 50% off.

      Wrong, Wrong, Wrong.

      A Dev2 is $70 - 50% = $35

      My upgrade from Dev1 to Dev2 was $35 - %50 = 17.50

How is that the same price?

I was thinking of upgrading my Dev1 - Dev3 for 50$... not sure if I will need that computing power though.
I use a Dev3 for my Plex servwr.

What friend the motherboard is not the most important part. It likely was a power surge. Maybe a capacitor blew. Who knows? Replace the board is my recommendation.

Yeah, sounds like your motherboard is fried. A lot of motherboards have a very small amount of onboard memory, usually anywhere from 32-128MB. So it'd still boot even without RAM, but it wouldn't really run. Have you tried installing a graphics card and plugging video into that? I bet your motherboard is fried.

    • Access a NFS Share from Another Linux Box

I feel like this shouldn't be this hard but I'm trying to access a share that's on server1 from server2. Both are running Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS and I want to basically share my NASes through one server that has Pertino to another running Pertino that is now on C@C. This shouldn't be so difficult but it is! GAH! Please help!

      Thanks,

You're lucky on two counts then! At work myself...brought my Powershell in a Month of Lunches book with me today.

Consider a Kindle. Cheaper to acquire books AND you can carry many of them to work or wherever really easily. I find it a great way to always have tech books with me.

I have a Kindle. I prefer paper books. I'm old school like that.

ICMP (Ping and TraceRoute) should be enabled by default. Have you tested them to see if they are already blocked?

Exactly. You're freaking out about enabling them when they are enabled by default, so unless you did something SPECIFIC TO DISABLE THEM, they are already working.
