well we're locked down again.
working from home, but it's quiet ... maybe too quiet.
so I'm putting in some work on the new electrical system for the earth exploration vehicle.
picked up a 210Ah LifePO4 battery, a 40A MPPT controller and a 40A DC-DC charger.
hooking all that up and mounting it in the rear of the Patrol.
got about 400W of solar panels as well.
planning a trip up to east arnhem land in a few months, provided we can still leave the state.

Not too bad. We live in the bush so all we have to do is wear masks, so it's not really a problem.

The kids are in Melb and are going nutty. Apparently from what they say the mood down there is pretty low. People are becoming rude and angry.

@travisdh1 I'm weird, actually no, i'm old school, i create a gold image on a device with all updates and apps etc, image it with macrium reflect, copy the image onto 4-6 usb hdds, and image the new devices that way.

I can usually image around 12 devices in 2 hours. Obviously I then need to go and individualise each device, but it works for me.

I do this coz I work at 9 different sites and can't always be gauranteed that I can even get bench space when working at these sites, this makes me pretty self sufficient.

I normally drop the image onto a network share somewhere and load all of them assembly line fashion, but yep.

My annoyance last night stemmed from sysprep requiring all "Microsoft Store" apps to be removed and the multiple trips between powershell and the error log to figure out what was still around that was blocking things.

Ohhhh, I understand and feel your pain.

I've been updating some HP management software on some servers and some backup software as well.

I log in post reboot to find, that Hyper-V manager doesn't display the VMs installed on the Host. The VMs are there and working, you just can't see them.

I've had this problem before once, it's a bugger of a thing to fix from memory.

many years ago we had a coffee comp at work, who could drink the strongest coffee. 23 teaspoons in one cup. I DO NOT recommend it.

WHY, when I have a nice new wsus server, complete with all the required updates, ready to go, do clients look at that server and say, nope nothing there for me, but when I tell the client to go look at the MS update server, they say, Oh, here's all the stuff I need.

And why, when I tell the same clients to auto download, they just sit there and say, Hey, i'm ready to download, when do you want me to do that???

Had a server that's being replaced loose 3 of the 4 drives in its array last night. Happy Friday to me, not that it's ever a good day for that to happen! Not a surprise since it's a 7 year old server, and the 3 drives that failed are all original.

This just gets better and better. Former employee recorded the wrong encryption key. So now we're restoring a backup from March so we can pull the key and restore to current.

on the bright side, at least you know you can get 7 years out of those drives ...

paying some bills after 5 weeks away. came home 3 weeks early so tossing up whether to go back to work early or stay away.

switched to zoho mail. liking the web interface.
also signed up to iDrive, but am having self inflicted problems with that atm.
