will the laptop can use the router for internet...

You mentioned a wifi modem. Technically a modem and router are different things. We are guessing you mean that you have a consumer router / firewall / switch / access point / modem all in one. But that's a bit of a guess. There's no info in your question. So based on nothing other than "what people tend to buy and call these things", yeah, likely your setup will work.

But do we have anything to go on to determine this? No, not a single detail that we'd need to know to actually determine it.

Nothing is going to work better than buying or building networking gear and building and maintaining a network(s) of your own. Hands on, in an environment where you are free to break things, test things, try things that most businesses don't need, etc. Change things, do it again but in a different way or with different products.

Build a lab that you can brag about and talk to companies about all of the different things that you do.

@dbeato I need be a System Admin but am going in security so wat can do now

So start working on being a System Administrator and secure all the systems as needed. Focus on securing each OS and then go next to application security with each OS, you might also need to touch the network so knowledge of it would be a plus.

from the looks of it your doing well, your work is it related to Mcafee Stinger project ? cause i like it.

since you know how to setup servers in good way, and getting more into SQL why not learn how to make good web business apps, to move any company paper work to digital secure backed up way.

      Virtualize the environment.
      setup good VM servers
      good backup plan
put some web magic and sql databases and be more into management information systems.

if you asking about IT titles, we all got weird ones and pretty sure at the end of the day we do 80-90% the same job.

We can look at DevOps as an extension of Lean manufacturing, with extras added like the Toyota Kata, and modifications made in order to make with work better and make sense to software development.

It is a great case study of how to successfully apply Lean to a different industry, and a great many things can be taken from it in order to apply to other industries.

For example, I know of a botched implementation of applying Lean to healthcare, and I believe if a DevOps style route was taken, it would be more successful. DevOps isn't applying straight Lean itself but making modifications where it makes sense, and I think a lot of the modifications made by DevOps would make sense to other industries.

There is "Lean IT", but I would be wary of applying it without doing some studying on DevOps first, since I view DevOps as the gold standard of how to apply Lean to your industry (aside from the whole buzzword confusion)

@roopankumar said in what programming language can I learn now ???:

@scottalanmiller need to experiment myself and thinking of what limit can I able to push myself into this. change of course too alternate techie thing

Start by automating your job with scripting in the appropriate language for your systems (powershell or bash).

Then one you understand the logic flow of scripting, you can choose to get into development and actual programming.

This provides you with the benefit of improving your knowledge and your work environment at the same time.

I definitely agree with this. It actually makes the knowledge that you are gaining applicable to your everyday life to begin with. That's huge. I also agree with Scott that scripting langs are very popular right now. Compiled does have it's place in my opinion but there are arguments to be had there. That being said compiled languages would be the last thing that I would suggest for a sysadmin as it's applicability would be very little for you (if any).

The real "power" of the Raspberry Pi is in making traditional "embedded" devices with it. Building your own sensors, thermostat, light controls, and things like that.

But of course you could use it to build small servers too, instead of making VMs. You could get five RPs and make five little servers with them.

OK, now I need to setup like 2 windows server, 2 Linux and 3 DB server with netbackup

what will the hardware configuration for that setup
      RAM?CPU?HDD?

That's tiny. NetBackup is meant for enterprise environments. I've never heard of any NB deployment with fewer than three or four hundred individual servers. That's less than a single server there! Why NB?
