I'll be running into a similar scenario very soon. Have a file server VM with 1TB of storage via VHD assigned through xenserver
All data is on iSCSI LUNs attached as a SR.

but those were one time
Yeah - they can add-up!! Again, for the Askozia PBX licensing, its one time. Only monthly fee is for the hosting portion.
If you want to talk about pricey per month! Look at mobydick PBX by Pascom... German company.
Nice product, but ouch.

@ntoxicator Don't get me wrong, I highly recommend that clients buy some of the FreePBX commercial modules for the value they add to Asterisk.
Just seeing those numbers in no way makes me want to jump to it as a solution.
Understood! Visit my website and you'll see better pricing for the licensing. www.ajavoicetech.com
In regards to FreePBX modules -- for some pro call queue features or even the Endpoint Manager, the cost can add up. Endpoint manager is $75 by its self.
All comes down to perceived value.
Nah, its for the better. But all functionality is still there and the same.
Its supported on the CCR models though, as has the hardware/cpu power to do so. I think they'll also release it for their newer ARM based routers as well.
@dafyre - - it should map out and build topology for you. Or at the least, poll all your network devices via SNMP or netbios name, and relative distance... From there you can draw together
They depreciated it from majority of their routers. So have to install "The Dude Server" package on x86 machine. And then run the client locally and from there it'll map and giving you the power to be.
@JaredBusch
For which you referring to $400 price wise?
The licensing is one time fee, then there after is monthly for the hosting aspect. www.ajavoicetech.com
I'm offering significant price break on the licensing >> see to their website for askozia PBX software www.askozia.com
Do you not see the active ports and stats within the webGUI of the SG-300? its all right there
What about SNMP reporting? Such as The Dude by MikroTIK
I guess im a MikroTik Fanboy...

FreeBPX 13
I primarily use Askozia PBX for all my VOIP and my customers.
However, Going to check out FreePBX 13, as has new firewall and such. personally, I've always have had a 'vendetta' towards Elastix.. Thats just me. However, if can 100% get Fail2Ban and iptable firewall working, then its okay solution.
2006 is correct version... I hate Sage ACT!... ugh..
Follow the on-screen installation instructions.
instruction book telling you to follow on screen instructions.
Well, this is about same time of year I go back to my home area for visit.. Yes, I grew up and lived in central new york (Syracuse area). Rochester was 1 hour from me.

I've used them for 1+ years. great success with VOIP applications.
I'm aslso checking into vultr..
Great insight here... thank you
That's 'jimmy johns' fast. Nice!
I have reached out to them recently
I try to plan the environment similar to datacenter setup with N+1, although cant be the case without serious $$.
But yes, after your great detail and points of seeing the bigger picture. I've also now considered what it would cost to have a cold spare back-up server. Or just simply the 5-year NBD or as you said 6-hour repair warranty.
it all comes full circle as to what downtime costs the company and to what is worth to mitigate the downtime.
More great info here, Thank you @scottalanmiller
Absolutely... Noted.
Also doesn't help, for 2years I've been begging for an IT budget. They want me being director of IT, but without a budget to work with. Very difficult to make decisions in best interest. I just give 'sugestions'. Then we have a guy internally that will beat up our vendors on pricing, more so on my efforts - or they get the approval. But thats besides the point, and more of internal struggles
