Top Movies
(Most Re-Watched)
In no particular order, here are the top movies that I still re-watch even after many years. These include top rated and guilty pleasures. I am not including holiday movies, which will be applied to another list later on.
Pans Labyrinth (2016)— With my fascination with horror and fantasy, this movie would be at the top of the list of most re-watched. Even after just nine years, I still manage to get back to watching it. The dark subject matter and bitter sweet ending is a sign of the director Guillermo Del Toro, which makes it to my top list of favorite directors. The movie will never be dated to me because the it is so visually vivid and sticks with you forever.
Dirty Dancing (1987)- I don't know many women that does not re-watch this from time to time. Who can resist watching Patrick Swazye in his prime dancing with a Jennifer Grey. I think my love for dance movies started with this movie and I still manage to catch on TV every year. This year I finally purchased the movie and it definitely makes it to one of the most watched movies in my collection.
The Departed (2006)- Aw yes Martin Scorsese is one of my favorite directors and this is probably my favorite movie directed by him. Im sure people would love to put The Godfather series or Goodfellas, which are also amazing, but I have always loved The Departed. The cast is by far my favorite line up, even if it is all male.
Bridesmaids (2011)- One of the best women centric comedies I have ever seen. I love the raunchy humor and how it is not ashamed to make women less “lady like”. Some of the most memorable jokes and scenes come from this movie and I always re-watch it. I actually have it stored on my iPad for plane trips and those who have seen it know why.
All Star Trek Movies (Originals and Reboots)- I was born a Trekkie and will die a Trekkie. I love all the films, yes including my personal favorite Star Trek IV. I know, the one with the whales. The top favorites are IV, VI, and First Contact. I think the Borg is somewhat responsible for my love of horror and zombies. My friends just recently went as far to through me a Live Long and Prosper party for my two year cancer free mark.
Star Wars (IV, V, VI)- This is kind of a give in. I love watching these over and over. Probably too many times to count. I have a poster of the Return of the Jedi on my wall, a stuffed R2D2, and a measuring cup set that builds into a R2D2. My text tone is, you guessed it, R2D2 and my husbands text tone is Leia saying “I love you” and Han saying “I know”. I was born loving Star Wars and Leia being one of my heroes. I wish I could pretend I, II, III don't exist, but that will probably never happen.
Secretary (2002)- This movie, there are no words. Absolutely one of my most favorite love stories of all time. It is weird, I know. It has a bitter sweetness to it, which given my tastes in movies, is kind of what I like.
Most Disney Movies- With very few exceptions, most Disney Classics are on my list of re-watchable. My favorites are, Cinderella, Brave, Little Mermaid, 101 Dalmatians, Frozen, so on and so on.
ET (1982)- A childhood favorite that I own and will re-watch until I am old and wrinkled. My kids will watch it and carry on the tradition.
Ghostbusters (1984)- Its BILL MURRAY and HAROLD RAMIS! I still find it hilarious and watch anytime I am feeling blue.
There are more, but these are the top ten.
Here is a few more for you guys if you two are really on a horror kick.
