- just thought that the above "which" command is pretty basic knowledge, even for non-kernel hackers.
It is, very basic. Linux is the most popular OS and which is a non-admin command, even a Linux power user would know it. And it is not specific to Linux. AIX, Solaris, the BSD family, Mac OSX and others all use it, too. And I think that it is even available for Windows. So it is common on nearly all OSes and the vast majority of those deployed today. If we allow any questions that are specific to any OS, this seems the most reasonable.
Yeah, don't have a problem, it helps us learn and get better at stuff for sure too...I've got some wrong just by not reading the question properly and some by not knowing the answer, I WANT to be challenged more, the easy questions are exactly that...too easy mostly...
But I'm the first to admit I know VERY little about Linux/ANY OS that isn't windows (I know, I'm a noob) but I am beginning to play with Linux more, it's just finding time and decent places/resources to learn about the basic stuff etc before I can move onto the harder stuff

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
And then to top my week off, I got let go from my job today...no warning, no suspicion of any issues, nothing said to me about things to improve...so yeah, job hunt starts next week I guess...

RE: So we are leaving..............
@Jimmy9008 said in So we are leaving..............:
The market is having an initial shock due to UK actually leaving. In the long run we will do better than fine.
No way in hell will the Middle East want to see the UK economy (and property) crash, as they would lose hundreds of billions. No way will German car manufacturers want to lose the 20%-30% sales from the UK, the French car manufacturers too. Supermarkets such as ALDI and LIDL are heavily invested in the UK and would want to keep that income coming in. Others too.
Large companies will force the EU to keep trade with the UK, as without trading with the 5th largest economy the EU will not have the funds to survive and bale out Greece, Italy so on so forth. Without the UK 'footing the bill', they probably wont be able to anyway.
*6th Largest. France overtook us this morning...

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
@DustinB3403 That's what I picked...Nope. OP chose PaaS as the correct answer. Not just me then - 32% correct so far...

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
@stacksofplates Yeah, it was one of those, I answered it, saw what they'd picked, and then could KIND of see where they were coming from with it...but wasn't sure if it was just me because of the previously mentioned factors or not

Our company just made it against the rules to smoke even if it's legal in your state. No matter if you are doing it for recreation or medical reasons (on or off the clock)
Is that legal?
In Colorado it is. If I was going to do a masters thesis in economics it would be fun to track, if his employer has to pay more per hour for the same skill of work because of this (or if they just end up with shittier workers).
I think the general consensus is that workers that are pot-heads ARE the lower quality workers.
But in reality it can be very far from the truth...

My daughter actually brought five tablets to bed with her.
She can use each in turn until they are dead.
or take all 5 at once and have some crazy dreams, depending which tablets we're talking....
