It's IE, and I don't store form data anyway. Shouldn't the password recovery feature just work?

RE: Energy of Choice?
I used to have a heavy caffeine addiction, and consumed it in many varieties. Eventually, I broke the cycle and generally stay caffeine-free. Now, I'm just a social caffeine drinker.

Password Recovery Function
I'm a bit embarrassed to mention this, but has anyone else had issues getting the password recovery feature to work? It's telling me I have an invalid email address. For now, my saved password is working on my primary device, but it would be cool to be able to log in on a different device. Admittedly, I wasn't entirely awake when I created this account, and didn't jot down the password.

If you bring up performance monitor, what files are being written/read? Even if the disk activity is relatively low, it gives you an idea of what the process is doing by the files it's interacting with.

Yep! It'll be interesting. I have entirely conflicted feelings about that.

Do you have a break down that you've done for another SMB that you can share (no names of course).
I could do up an environment-specific one, based on requirements. What level of uptime are you looking for, how many users are there, and how much email is there? Can the existing staff handle a fault-tolerant Exchange environment?

It was more the what would you need to see to get your boss to migrate.
Exchange failure. When it crashes and burns, they'll consider it.

"Sorry, that's sensitive information that I can't give out." After getting that response about 3 times, they give up.

in that case, it could be a funky ground. I tossed the STP idea out there because I've seen STP grounded on both ends act as an unintended grounding conductor. I can't say that I've seen similar behavior with STP.
It's also possible, though very remote and bizarre, that the user has some odd effect on electronics. My mother, for example, kills digital watches in less than a month and can only use analog.

RE: I can no longer access the charm menu on my second monitor
Windows 8/8.1 is like a significant other that is ugly but also has a great personality. You're shocked/appalled at first, but it grows on you.
Having an option to disable the left screen's charms window would be a nice touch nonetheless.

It never ceases to amaze me the stupid decisions management make for their IT needs. What would it take to talk your boss into letting you move to a easier to use, manage and support hosted email system?
You need proper buy in presented the proper way from just the right people. Even then, sometimes companies prefer to insource anything solely on principle. Sometimes it's a matter of timing. If you catch a company at a point where it's considering upgrading the existing system, another option may work, but if you miss that window, it's not going to budge. In some cases, a company has the talent and infrastructure in place to do Exchange properly, so making the switch may not be ideal.
What's the specific case you're working on (while withholding enough info to protect the guilty)?

Is your cable STP or UTP? Do you have any radio towers nearby?

RE: Review Request: Current version of Symantec Backup Exec
I used Backup Exec recently for an environment whose policy required tape. It worked quite well for the purpose. If you need backups to removable media, Backup Exec is the way to go.
Now, before someone talks about how Veeam can do tape now, yes, I've tried it. It's ok. However, if I had an environment that was entirely virtual and required tape, I'd just have Backup Exec back up my Veeam repository.

Why, one mixes Jack with KG, of course! (Not an alcohol reference)

RE: cannot access gmail when bypassing proxy server (sometimes not always !!!!????)
For pure proxy (using local cache to offload WAN bandwidth constraints), HTTPS isn't usually proxied. In theory, it's session-specific, so caching it would be a waste of resources, and only serve to slow the user's experience down.
For filtering, I typically use a device or service that provides transparent HTTPS inspection. Personally, I've had good luck with Sopohos UTM and the late Forefront TMG. Squid by design isn't a filter, and they say as such. They then go on to mention that if you want to use it as a filter anyway, use SquidGuard. I guess the question is: What are you looking to achieve by using the proxy?

RE: Favorite Interview Question?
My favorite question was a bit hands-on. It involved a whiteboard and creating a network that composed of a certain number of types of devices set by the interviewer.

Remind me, what does licking your front door have to do with security
If people see you do it, they won't want to touch your door afterwards.
Seriously, though, at this point, the focus of malware just isn't on Linux. Should the market shift away from Windows, that trend may change. Time will tell.

@Nara Tried on Windows, same issue- Access Denied! May be its time to get rid of that, but can't believe that the HDD is visible on disk management on both windows & MAC but can't access that!
Access denied? Were you running the command prompt with elevated rights?
