@thanksaj You think doing something creepy for money (lots of legit jobs are kind of creepy) is equal to wanting to be the wife of a serial killer just because you really like serial killers? I'll take wanting money over loving serial killing any day.
Working in a morge is a creepy job. CSI clean up after a murder is a serious creepy job. Whew!

RE: In Need Of Redhat video Tutorials.
Hey Scott. I want to thank you as well as the rest of you guys for your help thus far. Guys to be honest, the book thing isn't for me. Unless I'm in school and or I have to do it, I don't' want to be bothered. Reason being is, sometimes in books things are explained in such a way that if you're not familiar with the procedures, you may not understand what's explained. With the video you can watch what's being done as well as understand what they are explaining. Besides, one man's technical lingo may be another man's Achilles' heel. Whaaa? Exactly! lol!
Therefore, if any of you know of or come across some videos that are set up in CBT Nugget or Lynda format that would be great. I'm surprise that neither of the two I just mentioned didn't have anything on Red Hat. -

With that being said, should I try to delete the files that I extracted from the vmware disc that I mounted? Will it cause any problems having extra vmware folder in /tmp.
Just wastes space. Just delete everything from /tmp. Many systems, like Solaris, mount /tmp into memory so that it is automatically flushed after every reboot. Many other systems use a cron job to blow away /tmp when it is on disk on a routine basis so that it doesn't collect dust.
Will do! Thanks again for the feed back.

What is the best approach to migrate a whole network to the cloud, what are the pros and cons?
I may start working for a company that is interested in migrating their whole network to the clouds. If so, I would like to be proactive in being ready for such a task. Do any of you have any ideas? What are the good, the bad and the ugly for this move?

You need to start over. Your Bob and their bob are not similar. They have different names and everything.
You need to great a user named bob, a group named projectX and a folder named bob. You can do this side by side with what you currently have since Bob and bob are unrelated as users, groups or files.
Once you create the right user, group and folder you use the chown command to change the user owner of a file and chgrp to change the group owner of a file. (There is a shortcut for this that I am not providing for reasons of clarity.)
So once everything exists you would use...
chown bob bob chgrp projectX bob
To make the folder named "bob" belong to the user bob and the group projectX.
Thank you so much Big brotha! I got it to be how I want it. I'll keep in mind about the Capitalization. I got rid of Bob with userdel -r Bob and added useradd bob.
Nevertheless, I'm good now. Thank you again for inspiring me again. -

RE: Bitlocker resume protection wizard initialization has failed
Aight Fam (short for family), this is what I've discovered that seems to be working thus far.
- Go into the bios to see if TPM is activated or deactivated. If deactivated, click activated, apply, exit and restart computer.
- Log in as admin, type in search bar "tpm.msc and select.
- On the far righthand side under, "Actions", see if TPM is initialized. If not, click on initialize to initialize it.
- Once you finished initializing it, the computer will ask to restart.
- After logging in, go to Control Panel, Bitlocker
- If the Bitlocker is turned off, turn it on and allow it to do it's work in the background
Now mind you I just discovered that the Bitlocker can be on, but a server will give a notification stating otherwise due to the Bitlocker on the computer isn't properly communicating with the server.
To check to see if this is the case, Go into the property of the computer via AD. Under the Bitlocker tab, if you don't see any pwd key or any information pertaining to Bitlocker that's the issue. Try to reset, if not, clear.
If you have to go beyond this point, it's beyond me. Thus far all that I mentioned above has worked for me. G'luck! -
RE: Bitlocker resume protection wizard initialization has failed
@BRRABill
Thank you for your concern. The cool thing about Bitlocker, the Pwd recovery key is listed in the AD under the Bitlocker tab. -
RE: Who Has Knowledge of Oracle NetSuite
@scottalanmiller said in Who Has Knowledge of Oracle NetSuite:
@MrWright4hire said in WHO HAS KNOWLEDGE OF NETSUITE, BY ORACLE:
Aw ok! There is a position for a System Admin, but they would like for you to have knowledge of this Netsuite.
That's weird since NetSuite would have no relationship to a System Admin role. Run away, it's a fake job title. System Admin skills sets do not overlap with SaaS Application Admin. No crossover in skills. That means you are looking at a really screwed up company with processes that make it impossible to really make yourself valuable.
And that's why I dub you as my Tech BIG BROTHA! Thank you for that advice as well as great point.

PINGing issue...please help!
Calling all IT brains! For the life of me I, for some reason, can't figure out why I can't ping between two computer. Computer A and B can ping all the NAS and other devices, but not each other. On both computers I disable the AV, firewall, checked the ICMP, File and Printer sharing are enabled, Netbios protocol enable and checked for blockage on the router. Although pinging is an issue, I can remote into each machine from one another. Arp and net view, on both computers, can see the other computer listed. Yet, inspite of all my efforts, no love.
The technical in environment...Computer A OS is a Windows 7 Ulti and Computer B OS is a Windows 10 pro. Am I missing something?
Any help will be appreciated. Thank you in advance. -
RE: PINGing issue...please help!
@travisdh1 : Great question and yes they are the same.

What would be a typical Network Admin Best Practice Cheatsheet...Anyone?
Other than the unexpected, I'm curious to know if there is anyone out there that has a Network Admin flowchart or some routine that they swear by on a daily. Like some sort of checklist.
Insight on network monitoring tools would be nice as well.Allow me to be there first to say Merry Covid Free Christmas to all!!!!!
To my Big IT Brotha S.A.M., Love you dawg!!
