@xylems He means you installed it wrong, and that you wont be able to fix it.
      I agree.
If you want the easy way to make this get the Ubuntu 1804 server iso and choose Nextcloud at the end. It will install nextcloud for you.
      https://www.ubuntu.com/download/server
      Or follow @JaredBusch guide verbatim.

    • RE: Xen Orchestra - Community Edition - Installing with Yarn

Fixed by ditching ubuntu, my SOP today with ubuntu based installers and setups.
First try on debian, works with one warning about optional fsevents component.
This component only seems to be for osx so not sure why it is being triggered here during the install.

    • RE: Xen Orchestra - Community Edition - Installing with Yarn

It is the official server iso from ubuntu. I also redownloaded this same iso from ubuntu.com and there is also no redis-server. Nowhere does your guide say to install prerequisites or add repositories to install. It says 'install ubuntu server and use this one line installer'. I did that and it fails 100% of the time. redis-server isnt on the ubuntu server iso repo by default.

Its not something on my end.
The repo for redis-server isnt on the server iso repo.
It is on the regular ubuntu repo.

It is the 1804 server iso
The first step of the script fails and cant find redis-server, it then continues on through and installs everything else without a db.

@danp I know how to check error logs. The point is the installer keeps on going after errors are encountered, then says everything is ok when it is done.
Like just now, "no package redis-server available" well that seems pretty important, why not err out there and tell me? Instead it goes through and says "Your xo is now ready, go to ip address and start using it"

3 separate versions of ubuntu and even different minor versions of them. 16, 17 and 18 over the last two years. Never works, theres alwasys some package not found, some configuration not supported, something that keeps it from working, yet the output still says it works.

I typed in the command on the github page. It says it completed successfully, but no xo.
Ill just use the virtual appliance since it works.

I have tried this installer script at least half a dozen times over the last 2 years. Not once has it ever worked.
Today i try again and it doesnt work still.

@black3dynamite Extinction watched that yesterday. Two big 'whoa' in like 2 minutes. Totally surprised by this one.
It should have been another 30 min longer, or 20 minutes less intro before the baddies show up.

Golden Chicken sandwich from The Habit. Very good but ruined by pickles. Even after taking them off, their vileness had already crept into other parts of the sandwich.

      @scottalanmiller What's the rush?

I just sit there while everyone rushes the gate, then walk up after everyone else has boarded.

Cuz then you get stuck in a middle seat and both people on the side of you take your armrests.

    • RE: Yealink T46G - wipe Verizon firmware?

You can probably do this by setting up a tftp server with a default yealink fw and rom, then set the yealink to use that tftp server by going into Recovery Mode. Havent done with yealink, but at last job Mitel stuff was similar, and I bet all voip phones are similar to this:

    • RE: Non-IT News Thread

@scottalanmiller This article is missing an important part of why Seattle has so many parking spaces compared to residents. It is because the vast majority of people who work in the city dont live in the city. There arent that many places to actually live in the city limits of Seattle. Downtown is mostly business not residential. From his parking heatmap, the 'hottest' part is downtown, where there are almost no residential apartment buildings. There have been some built that last 5 years or so, but still, the reason traffic sucks is because people live in suburbs and drive here to work. They dont live in the city.
